Reserve Your In-Person Appointment to Apply for a Certificate of English Eligibility (C.O.E)

Our English Eligibility office will process applications for a Certificate of English Eligibility for students living in the territory of the English Montreal School Board or for students registering into one of our schools.

  • Complete and print the following Student Information Document (PDF) and bring it with you to your scheduled appointment for the C.O.E Application.
  • All appointments are in-person and are reserved online. Visitors must use the main entrance of the English Montreal School Board to access the building.
  • A maximum of two people per appointment will be admitted in the building.
  • The student needs to meet the minimum age of 4 years old as of September 30 for the application.
  • Each appointment is reserved for a maximum of two applications. If you are applying for more than two students, please reserve more than one time block.
  • Only original documents will be accepted during the appointment - photocopies or electronic documents are NOT accepted. Due to the confidential nature of the documents, we cannot receive any documents by email.
  • Our offices will not begin or file any application unless all required documents are available at the time of your in-person appointment. Incomplete documentation will prevent us from starting the process, and you may be asked to reschedule your appointment to complete the application.
