The EMSB Transportation Division, a part of the School Organization Department, is responsible for issuing bus passes to students who meet the walking criteria based on their address as of June  30 of each school year.

What are the eligibility criteria?

In order to qualify for bussing the student must live within the territory of the school.  Students residing outside of his/her school's territory are not eligible for bussing.

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten:
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students residing more than 0.6 km from school are eligible for bussing.

Grades 1 to 6:
Elementary students registered and residing more than 1.4 km from school are eligible for bussing.

Can a student take the bus if he or she does not meet the criteria?

The school administration is responsible for assigning bus accommodations if requested by a parent. Parents must read and sign a Transportation Accommodation Request Form which will be forwarded to the EMSB Transportation Division. Accommodation bus passes are issued by school administration, the date of distribution is determined by the school administrator.

  • Accommodations can be made if there are available seats on the bus
  • The parent must choose an existing stop on the bus route
  • No new stops will be added
  • All school fees are paid

Please Note: Accommodation bussing may be removed at any time. The school administrator is responsible for removing the students who are accommodated when seats are needed for students who meet the eligibility criteria by chronological age (oldest to youngest).

Does my child need a bus pass?

For safety and security reasons, all students must have a bus pass to board the school bus at all times.

When do new students receive a bus pass?

The EMSB Transportation Division is responsible for issuing bus passes to all students who have registered prior to June 30 and who meet the walking criteria based on their address.  Students who register after June 30 will receive a bus pass when the school re-opens in August from the school administration.
